Total Recall

It now appears that the people of Louisiana have been awaken from their long slumber.    For a long time they have been oblibious to what the Good Old Boys were doing to them.  There were a lot of them that simply did not care about how the state appeared and they kept electing the thugs that kept the state at the bottom of every conceivable list.

When an adult mother gets enough of her own kids, she will utter the fanouse prase "I have hade enough of this."  This means that if she is frustrated with said kids that have been acting up then she is about to disciplene them.  That is exactly what is happening with the arrogance that is the political eleite in this state.  The tipping point was the legilative pay raises.  The lesislature was arrogant enough that they thought that after the screwed the people on the Stelley Tax cut that they beleived that they would be able to slip this in under the radar.  They were dead wrong.  We see that there are a number of recall petitions that have been filed with the Louisisana Secretary of States Office.  I firmly believe that if the govern does not show any spine  and veto the bill, that he has sealed his political fate.  The next election will be lost and his star will sink faster than the Titanic.

Why would you make a promise to these politicans that the people sent you there to fight?  The fact of the matter is that in some respects that Bobby Jindal has been a big disappointment.  He may, very well, be the best governot that we have had in a while, but if he keeps making mistakes, he might be relegated to the ash bend of history as just another failure of a governor of louisiana that tryied to fix things but got swallowed up in the wash..

Leases

When we start to talk about going and get our own oil. what do the national democrats that lead the party say?

"The oil companies have millions of acres of land in leases the we should use first."

The problem with that is what if there is no oil on those particular leases?

The seem to want one of two things to happen.  Either they don't want any drilling or they want to send the oil companies to sites where there is a creat chance that there is no oil what so ever.  Oil companies are in the business of making money.  To that extent, why would they want to waste money drilling where there, is a hige probability, there is no oil.

Stay Out O My Wallet

We have a good feeling of what a Barak Obama presidency would do to each and evey one of the people of the country.  It would lighten  our wallets.  Don't say that this is not true because, other than JFK, everytin that a democrat has become presiedent, our taxes have risen.

The failure that was Jimmy Carter raised taxes.  It took the Renaldus Magnus to come in and over the course of eight years to lower taxes. When Reagan did this there was un precidented grout in the economy.  As I was gowing up in the period, it just seemd to me that everyone that wanted a job had one.  People were makeing money hand over fist.  Bill Clinton tried to rais taxes but as soon as the republicans took over congress, they forced him to lower the ones that he had raised.

Barak Obama has flat-out said that he wants to get rid of President Bush's tax cuts.  He also wants to raise the cap gains.  He is in favor of the stupidity that is the Winfalls Profit Tax.  He wants to raise taxes on buisnesses.  All of this together will give a tax rate of 60%.  That means that .60 of every dollar that you will earn will go to the federal government.  That does not take in to account the state and local taxes that are already levied.

I have said it before and I will say even louder now:

"BARAK OBAMA, STAY OUT OF MY AND THE WALLETS OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE."

War Weary

It is true that this country is war weary, but they are not so war weary that they would hurt the military by wanting to pull out of Iraq early.  That would cause another Vietnam.  The American people do not want that to happen.

I think that the people that want out of Iraq are a vocal miority.  These people are the holdoveres of the 196's anti war movement.  The are of a certain age, that came of age in the late sixties early seventies.  The further away from the Vietnam War that country gets, the fewer people from that era that run for office.  The ones that remain in office are getting older and soon may decide to retire.  As long as there are sixties holdovers in office, the anti-war groups will remain strong.

Most American do not want to see the U.S. militaty come off lookin as bad as it did after that war.  It took until the first gulf war for our military to get its grove and swagger back.  It took until the late 1980's for the country tostrt to get over the Vietnam War and to start to recognize the sacrifice that those men went through.

I have said this in many other places.  The American military is the ultimat sports team.  I would wager to say that most Americans have a favorite sports team.  I would also say that they feel better when that particular team win rather that when it loses.  The Amereican want to see a strong military with its confidence high.  The ability needs to be there for them to have equipment and the training to win in any situation they are sent into.  I fear that if there is the democratic sweep that every one is predicting, then there is a more thatn a fair shot that the military budget will be seriosly slashed. This will lead to a serious decline in the skill and ability of our fine fighting men and women.  That would be a sad state of affairs.

Oil, Oil, Oil

It is time for serios thinkers.  The thoughts that we need to be having are strictly about oil.  How we can can more of it, how soon can we get it, and where will it come from.

There is no doubt in my mind that at some point in the future there will come a time when we will completely be off of the current liquid that drives the engine of freedom and demcrocracy.  The question is just how long will it take us to develope the alternatives that will allow us toget off of oil.  Those allternatives need to also be economically feasible.  If they are not, then the American general publid will not take to them.

What  the democrats, their willing accomplices int the mainstream press, and the environmentalist wackos don't get is that the tide of American thought is in very quick  fashion turning against them.  The gacts of the matter state that 60% of the American public now want to drill as soon as possible.  There will come a time when there will be a serious backlash against the far left envrionmentalists.  These people have, since the 1970's, contiually conspired to hurt this great country.  They care more about the lives of animals then the health of our great country.  If that movement keeps going along in the same directions, then it will marginalize itself just like the womens movement has.

Slip Ups

I know that the natonal pundits think that Babby Jindal is an up and comer in the republican party.  That may very well be the case but he has had some major slip ups in his policies.

The first of these slip ups is being on the wrong side of the Stelly Bill   This bill was nothing more that a way to raise taxes.  The problem is that the people of Louisiana wanted that tax gone as soon as possible and he wants to play politics with it.  What he Jindal wanted was for the repeal not to take place until 2010.  That is exactly what he received.  The people that electec him wanted the money right away.  it looks like he got his way.

Secondly, there were the current, pending pay raises for the Louisiana legislature.  They wanted a 300% pay raise.  I believe that they should not receive that raise until the people receive the refund from the Stelly repeal.  These people are being greedy.  The problem for him is that he said that he would not veto that bill.  The lame excuse is that he did not want any of his legislation to get bottle up.  The treat was  made by Senator Jim "Big Goverment" Tucker, a so-called republican.  Jindal needs to show some cuts and veto teh bill even if it costs him some of his legislation.  If he does not then he will not get re-elected and his star might fall just as fast as it has risen.

Afraid

Barak Obama is making excuses. His campaign is hemming and hawing about doing town hall meetings with John McCain.    What is he afraid of? I think that fhe fears that Jonk might run reings around him and show how unprepared Obama is for the office of the President.

It is so obviou that Obama needs a teleprompter for him to be able to string complete thoughts together.  With out that aforementioned machine, it is hard for him to get his thoughts together into a cogent string of ideas.  This is bad because if he happen to win the election, he is not going to always have a teleprompter, and will have to speak off the cuff.  If the democrats think that George Bush made some faux-pas, just wait and see what happens with Obama.

John McCain, on the other hand is comfortable in this type of setting.  No matter what one might think of him, he comes off as affable and knowlegeable.  Sure, he may, from time to time trip over his own tongue in trying to find the right words, but that is to be expected when one has so many thoughts that occur, in his head, on a particular subject, at any given time.

If Obama does nat accept McCain's invatations to these meetings, it will show that the democrats are less and less confident that he can win the election.

I wll end on this,  I would love to see if McCain is telling the truth about letting other candidates into his town hall meetings.  If his invitation is extended to let's say Bob Barr and Barr accepts, then that will be a fun debate/ town hall meeting.

Friends Define You

As you grow up the friends you make and hang around with define you.  The same can be said about the people that a person surrounds him or herself with as an adult.  Barak Obama does not seem to get this.

This man keeps surrounding himself with people with questionable character.  If he keeps doing this, it could cost him the election.

The Reverand Wright is a person that is far outside of the mainstream of America.  I don't even think that he represents the manstream of african-american religious.  You could say the same thing about Father Micheal Phelger.  This man gives all self-respective catholic priests a bad name.

Tony Rezko is a totally different issue.  This is a man that did many illegal things.  He is definitely a part of the corrupt Chicago political machine.  As the evidence mounts against him it has force Obama to deny another friend that help him to get elected to the congress in the first place.

In the last week there has been another shady person from Obama's past.  It is James Johnson.  This is a guy that had shady dealings  within the loan industry.  Much like Rezko, but in a different way, he is a crook.  The problem is that he is helping Obama to look for a vice presidential candidate.   If Johnson is as shady as people say that he is, then how can Obam trust his judgement in selecting a man or woman to be his vice president.

If Obama is surrounding himself with these types of character issues in the campaign stage, then what kind of people will he surround himself if he becomes President.

What The Bible Says About Global Warming

The Bible in and of itself, does not specifically mention global warming.

My belief, and this coming from a conservative, is that it is happening but there is nothing that we can do about it.  No matter what we do to stop it, it will continue.

In the book of Ecclesiates, it says "One generation passeth away and another generation cometh, but the earth abides forever." (Ecclesiastes 1:4)  What does the word abide mean?  The word is definde as meaning  to endure, to live, and to dwell. So, if we take the Bible at its word, then the world will exist no matter what.  Then in verse nine it states "The that hath been is the thing whch shall be, that which is done is that which shall be done: there ios nothing new under the sun." (Ecclesiastes 1:9)  It is as is stated in the movie The Lion King, the circle of life.

Lets just say that I belived in the THEORY of Evolution.  This theory states that the human race has been around for about one-hundred thousand years.  In that period of time there has been several ice ages, hyper-warming periods, mini-ice ages, and regular warming periods and as we move forward in the history of the world, these periods of climatic upheaval will continue to happen.

We can try to do things about it but the fact of the matter is that  the earth is bigger then we can comprehend.

Knife, Sword, and Axe Control

Back in the Middle Ages, when, we the people had come out of the Dark Ages, the leaders and people were able carry knives, swords, and axes as their main weapons I don’t think they had "control" issues. Even the Pope had no comment on the lack of the issue. I seem to believe that if there had been a group that had dissented, there may have been a "mob" that could’ve hunted them down. Yes, those people would’ve been brought to what type of justice they had at the time.

The point is that "control" of the medieval weapons didn’t exist. If it didn’t exist then, why does it today. We know why, the liberals hate the second amendment.

Look, I don’t own a gun but I want the right to own one. I know a lot of people who own the guns and there is no way in heck that they would give them up.

Liberals And The Military

We all know how the democrats feel about the military.  The hate, despise, and loathe it.  The evidence of this is the fact that the last two democratic presidents have severely cut it.

I fear that the same is coming if Obama is elected this fall.  He has flat out said that he wants to get out of Iraq as soon as possible.  If this is the case, how far do we have to make the leap that he will make drastic military cuts.

As bad as we think that it is in Iraq at this point in time, it could get even worse.  We are the most technically advanced military on the earth. If the cuts come as I think that they will,  the quality of our militatry will decline.  This sill definietly make it dfficult to fight the war on terror.

At least with McCain, I know that he will put up a fight against the congress if the decide that they want to cut the military.
